Welcome to our new website
We hope that you find it easy to use and full of the information you require, whether you are a Friend or a member of the wider community.
If you have any feedback, or suggestions for other information you would like to see on the site, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We have a membership of 1700 households and our membership fee is £5 annually. We send out paper newsletters 3 times a year and the spring one is timed so that the full details of the AGM can be included. Our team of volunteers distribute the newsletters by hand.
The Park is now progressing with a slightly scaled back version of Greenwich Park Revealed project (held up by covid and reduced funding from The Royal Parks). The Friends will be giving £50,000 to a specific part of the project that we can claim as ours. The project will incorporate more community gardening opportunities.
We have recently produced and funded a wonderful book on The Birds of Greenwich Park by Joe Beale a well known local naturalist, available to buy here.
We have a Wildlife Group, a History Research Group and we are hoping to start a Photography group.
We sponsor free bandstand concerts in the summer, hold a Midsummer jazz concert and an Annual Lecture.
There is a committee of 14 members who meet every second month. Members of the committee attends the Safer Parks meetings, observe on the Blackheath Joint working Party meetings, keep an eye on all Royal Borough of Greenwich planning applications that are adjacent to the park or would impact on the view from the park.
Full details of who we are, our achievements and our activities can be found here.
